This is a good coney- diner. My Mom and her BF like to eat at this place so my Wife and I have been here a half dozen times in the last year or two. The salads here are huge. I'm a big guy and I need to remember to order a med salad next time because the large was way too much food. The pink greek dressing is really good. I have also had the meatlaof and a few other items, all pretty good. I prefer tomato gravy on meatloaf but I suspect I'm in the minority so minor gripe that theirs is beef gravy. I'm sure we will be back soon.

Best coney place I have found in S.E. Michigan. First, owner (Tom) is experienced and holds food and staff at higher standards than most coney joints. This coney actually doesn't burn their eggs on omelets. Cooks care about what they plate, not just wham bam thank you ma'am attitude. Quality & cleanliness shows at every turn. Thanks for the great food and service!

Good food, good for kids, good prices. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Closes early on Sunday's. It is generally busy on the weekend but tables turn quick.

First, let me say, I'm not much of a coney island fan. To me, they're all the same with the same, mediocre food. But, as coneys go, and in South Lyon there are three, not counting one in nearby New Hudson, this one is our favorite. One reason is that it is pretty clean which matters a lot to me. Also, their breakfasts are good and that's what we usually go for. I typically get their French toast, which I rate pretty high on the French toast scale, and I really appreciate that they are happy to bring me warm syrup. I haven't had too many of their other menu items, but I did have their fried cod dinner once and it was very tasty. The dishes I've seen other people order looks pretty darn good, too. The staff is always friendly and remembered us after our first visit or two. Oh, and another nice touch is their drive-thru window where you can pick up your carryout order.

I usually head to Southfield or W. Bloomfield for deli food but it's quite a hike from the South Lyon area. So after putting it off for over a year, I decided to try this place for the first time yesterday and found it pretty amazing. My wife ordered fried fish which arrived tasty and NOT over-cooked or dry at all. I ordered their Reuben sandwich and a Greek salad and both were delicious. The service was top-notch the salads are fresh-there simply were no disappointments. Of course I will return and, if necessary, revise this review but it's as 5-star for now. Still A+ and our "go-to" South Lyon restaurant as of 4/13/2015-Good consistent food and service.

There are plenty of Coney Islands to choose from in this small town. This is my favorite. They have good service and food. Again it's a Coney Island so don't set your expectations to high. They have a large menu and serve breakfast all day. My favorite thing about this place is that they have a drive through! Makes picking up dinner on a lazy night so easy. The Reuben sandwiches are one of our go to meals. They have good Salads and Chicken. The Spinach Pie is not the best I've had and I think they use frozen Spinach wish is disappointing, but it is good and I do order it. The Fish and Chips are good but by the time you get it home it's always soggy :(. Most of the meals come with a vegetable which is a nice bonus except that they're just canned veggies. I wish they would use more fresh ingredients. There red sauce I usually like to order when I go to a Coney for the Rice Pilaf or Spinach Pie always has a metallic taste to it so I no longer order it. I'm assuming it it's also from a can. If you're in the mood for dessert the rice pudding is great.

Lucas is a bit of a greasy spoon, so don't expect a world class dining experience, but the food is consistently good, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant is always clean. As far as Coneys go, this is one of my favorites in the area.

Hey, it's a coney island, so don't expect anything gourmet. But it's consistently decent. The servers are pleasant and attentive. The place is roomy and clean. The bathrooms are OK. There are a few TV screens showing the news, but with the sound very low or off. Salads here are based on head lettuce and bland (refrigerated) tomatoes. The ranch dressing (very good!) saves it. The fries are super-crispy, better than the onion rings, even. You get a generous portion of either fries or rings. The ketchup isn't thick enough for my liking, so I switched to the ranch. They have green tea, but it's from Lipton. I have eaten here a few times. We have had the chicken and rice soup when we weren't particularly hungry. Warm and filling. My friend really liked her chicken salad sandwich. The sandwiches seem like a safer bet at this place. One time, the fried chicken strips on the top of my salad were dry, but the ranch dressing saved it. Hey, it seems like everything I eat here is "saved" by ranch. It really is very good. I'll have to find out if it's home made. The "Hani Special" is like a fried-chicken gyros. You get a lot of chicken, though I think wider strips would stay in the sandwich better. The quantity of food you get is a good value for the price. You could get away with splitting soup and an entree between two people, if you are not huge eaters.

Visited for breakfast on a monday. The interior is very nice, but the seats could use some new cushions. Food was alright but nothing exciting. It took some time for our waitress to warm up. Overall nothing extremely negative or positive. Just another coney island.

Only giving a two star because the food is good. We order carryout from here quite often and after our experience today, we will not be going back. I ordered an item that has always come with fries (without being asked), but they were missing from our meal. When I called to inquire about the missing fries, I was rudely told that it isn't supposed to come with it when I explained they always have when I've ordered in the past. Instead of handling it professionally and offering a way to resolve the reason I called, he continued to argue his point. I would have gladly paid and obviously wanted the fries or I wouldn't have called. When I asked for a manager due to the attitude on their end of the phone, I was shocked to discover it was the owner speaking so rudely to customers. With 3 coney islands in town, I will happily take my business elsewhere if that is the way the OWNER is going to treat paying customers. I will also be sure to pass along our experience to all of our friends, family, and our contacts that work with the city of South Lyon. Edited to add: after posting my review, the owner's oldest son (whom I had the confrontation with) further proved the point that customer service is not his strong suit by sending me a nasty private message. Very unprofessional.

Luca's is always a hit or miss with everything except the coney sauce ( which i always give that 5 stars)... Often i will run into town & just grab the coney sauce to go for hotdogs at home... but today i also picked up the greek pink dressing & it was such a hit the dressing was AMAZINGLY tasty! Today was a win, let's keep it going!

Since moving to South Lyon 2 years ago, I've tried all the coney islands in town, and this is by far the best! The service is fast and friendly with a small town feel. Some of my favorites... Chicken Melt: grilled nicely with plenty of cheese and sautéed onions Cheeseburger: I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. A simple burger that is well seasoned with all the right toppings. Chicken Gyro: can't beat that tasty cucumber sauce! Grilled Cheese: If there's bread, cheese, and butter involved, it has to be good. I'm not big on traditional breakfast foods, but I can say that the coffee is perfect diner joe, and my husband loves the French toast! This place is always packed on Sunday mornings, so sneak out of church 5 minutes early to avoid the line! Well, maybe not. But know that even if a wait does form, it's generally very short

Lucas is a great local Coney Island. Blueberry pancakes are awesome every time as are all the breakfast selections. I personally don't care for the Greek dressing they use but my entire family loves it, so I may be wrong. Lucas wait staff us always friendly even on a busy day and the busboy ( wish I could remember his name) is great always remembers us and goes out of his way to clear and restock anything you need. So basically if your in south lyon Lucas is the spot hands down Leo's is substandard trust me

I go here a lot. The food and service is very good. And If you like Corned Beef sandwiches, this place will surprise you. They stack it very thick and the meat is quite tasty., something you wouldn't expect from a family coney.

If you are near South Lyon and looking to eat at a coney island this is the place to go. They have great food, good service, and it's reasonably priced. My favorite is the Hani special, which is the standard chicken finger pita and it automatically comes with delicious ranch, mmmmm, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Oh and their fries are amazing! A sure go-to

My patronage of Lucas Coney Island has been sporadic at best. Yet after my last visit, I took a moment to reflect. The food, though standard coney island fare, has consistently been tasty, a cut above the usual. I've had the reuben, salads, chili cheese fries, a burger, a couple of different kinds of coney dogs. All have been surprisingly good. As for service, it has been variable. There have been some friendly servers, some who made themselves scarce. Nothing awful, nothing great. To sum it up: South Lyon is nothing if not loaded with coney island or coney island-esque (Brown's, Big Boy, The South Lyon Grille) places. My choice is usually Brown's. But from now on, based on my experiences at Lucas, whenever Brown's is too packed or if it is breakfast time, Lucas will be my backup.

They make a good Reuben that I come back for when in town. It's big enough that I share it with my wife. Good service, nice atmosphere and a great value.

Lucas Coney Island is the best coney in South Lyon! Although, sometimes, the service is slow, the food is always fresh! They have very good salads, and their soups are soupy, not a thick gravy, like at Leo's. Their fries are the best around! Crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Which totally makes it worth the extra calories! :P My boyfriend loves their pattiemelts, which has become a go-to on the menu when he's undecided. One thing I hope will improve is their slow-ish service. If the restaurant is busy, you will get a lot of coffee fills, if it's slow, they seem to forget. I've never had a bad experience!!! :)

Average diner. Nothing to write home about. They look a little nicer than the other alternatives around town, but they deliver the same experience. Average food, average service, average prices. Whoop-tee-doo.

Just what I was craving. Dog was snappy. Chili was yummy. Onions were fresh. Fries we good too, but I like skinny fries better. I'm just sayin.

I don't know if it was because I was starving or the fact that I like hot dogs or Coney Islands hot dogs are just good, but I enjoyed my Coney Island special hot dog. The lady who was working there was also friendly, I tried to tip her, but they don't have a tip jar.
